Paraffin-ozokeritotherapy

Paraffin-ozokeritotherapy

The main role in the mechanism of action belongs to thermal factors. It has antispasmodic effect, promotes the resorption of inflammation, scarring and adhesions.

In order to apply heat therapy peloid like (paraffin wax, mineral wax) substance. The common property for the specified coolant that contributes to their high therapeutic efficacy, is their ability to retain heat for a long time and slowly (during the procedure) to give it body of the patient.

Paraffin therapy – is the application for therapeutic purposes of molten paraffin. Paraffin is a distillation product of oil and is a mixture of solid saturated hydrocarbons with melting point 50-57ºC. The main role in the mechanism of action of paraffin belongs to thermal factors.

Paraffin local temperature increases and causes active hyperemia skin, revitalizes the capillary blood flow and metabolic rate, improves the regional hemodynamics and trophism of tissues, has spasmolytic effect, accelerates regeneration of peripheral nerve fibers, reduces spasticity and rigidity of muscles, promotes the resorption of inflammation, scarring and adhesions.

Ozokerit – rock group of bitumen, which is a mixture of solid saturated hydrocarbons. It has a high heat capacity, low thermal conductivity. Ozokerit causes an increase in local temperature, accompanied by the emergence of severe flushing, increased sweating, metabolism, vasodilatation, improvement of regional hemodynamics, decrease muscle spasm and muscle hyper tonus. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, absorbing, fibrinolytic activity.
